Highlights from the 2019 Reel Impact Festival
On December 5th, One World gathered together 200+ change-makers, entrepreneurs, and storytellers for our 4th Annual Reel Impact Festival (RIF) at the Impact Hub in Oakland. Together with our partners Social Venture Circle, NIA Impact Capital, and Impact Hub Oakland, we hosted our best-ever RIF, featuring a full-day of hands-on interactive workshops led by Bay Area media professionals, and an amazing evening program that highlighted inspiring social impact stories, performances by local artists, treats from local, sustainable food companies, and the vibrant culture of Oakland.

RIF Workshops
New at RIF this year, the RIF workshop series kicked off the event with 7 interactive trainings designed to help entrepreneurs master their message and learn how to spread it to the masses. Bay Area media professionals trained on everything from storytelling basics, to shooting great video on a smartphone (and how to distribute it), to how to use the latest digital marketing tools to generate revenue. Thank you to all our partners and workshop facilitators, including our Reel Partner Position 2, for sharing your expertise.

RIF Film Festival
The 2019 program, led by emcee Lynn Johnson of Spotlight:Girls, featured a screening of 13 incredible video finalists (out of more than 200 submissions), inspiring panel conversations, amazing local food, and performances by local artists, including our partners at Get Empowered!

Most Moving Video Award: Generation Lockdown (MARCH FOR OUR LIVES / MCCANN)
Most Effective Messaging Award: The Wage Gap: A Scary Truth (WOMEN'S FOUNDATION & BARKLEY)
